A superb Peter Hynes strike from almost thirty yards out, with six minutes remaining, meant that Finn Harps exited Longford without a point to show for their efforts on Friday night last. Harps, having beaten Mervue United the previous week, were hoping to build on that result and consolidate seventh place in the League table. Michael Funston, as expected, replaced the suspended Tony Shields in the centre of the park, but Harps made no further changes to the starting line up from a week previous.
